So we had our plans for the week set up and low and behold we get a phone call from a doctors office to book a minor surgery for Dave. We had discussed this option before chemo started and prior to Dave being admitted. This procedure is called a Port-a-cath, it is a permenant re-usable access port that remains underneath the skin. This will be dedicated for chemo use only. The procedure will be done at the Peter Lougheed and may even been done in my department. So the next few days are busy and involved but overall should be good.
On a side note my Big sister is back in Calgary to help out while mom is having her surgery tomorrow. Hopefully we will be able to enjoy the nice Calgary Chinook!!!
