A Hospital Stay for Noah

Noah gave us a little scare and had some trouble breathing and when I say trouble breathing I mean turning grey and getting rushed past the emergency room triage. For those with medical background, he was sating about 84%. NOT GOOD!(You should be sating above 95%)

We were rushed back to the respiratory beds and a Doctor came and assessed us pretty quickly. They could hear his weazing from outside the room. They started him immediately on ventolin and an muscle relaxer as well as oxygen. They did 3 treatments back to back and then one every hour. The doctor thought that he should turn around in about 4 hrs and should be able to go home. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Noah was admitted to hospital. He was transferred to the Peter Lougheed Centre Pediatric unit. He was off oxygen but still needed his ventolin hourly. When we arrived he had been put back on oxygen since his sats dropped below 90% again. He was admitted and put on isolation since he had a cough. He had nothing contagious but it was protocol. He needed his ventolin hourly for 2 days and then they were able to slowly reduce it and discharge him on Saturday afternoon.

He will be on Flovent(a precautionary anti-inflammatory inhaler) twice daily until June and ventolin as needed. Hopefully this will prevent any further hospital stays.
