Caleb's Operating Room Visit

Today we went to the Children's Hospital for Caleb to have his Endoscope to see if they could find out what is going on in his little tummy.

We were up and at the hospital by 630 am. Early morning but it was definitely worth it! We were assigned to a bed and waited for the nurse to come and get us ready for the Operating Room. By 8am we were rolling out of Day Surgery to the Operating room. I was given a restaurant pager that would blink and vibrate when Caleb was on his way from recovery to day surgery.

In the holding area we met with the anesthesiologist and Gastroenterologist. Caleb got to pick the flavor of the anesthetic. He picked Bubblegum. I watched them roll him down the hall and went to get a coffee. After getting my coffee I headed back to the day surgery waiting area. They had a monitor that was color coated so you could see where Caleb was . Once Caleb was out of the Operating room the GI doctor( Dr. Machida) came out and talked to me. Caleb has a form of esophagitis. We will be waiting for some biopsy results and he will be put of some medication as well. They will monitor him closely due to his family history.

He still has a pH probe in and will for 24 hrs. We go back tomorrow to get that out. He is doing really well with having the tube in his nose and down his throat.

He is a Champ!

Wow Darcy, you sure have had a lot on your plate. Praying they will find the right way to treat him. :)
