When Sharing isn't a good idea..

Well Yesterday was an interesting day at our house. Caleb decided to get into the Halloween Candy but didn't get into kid approved Halloween candy. He is okay with peanuts and traces of peanuts so this isn't a problem. The problem arose when he decided to share with his brother. Noah got a sample of a regular M&M and spat it out. It was already too late. He started to grab at his throat and gag. I grabbed the epi-pen and laid Noah across my lap. Removed the safety end and put some pressure and the pen automatically injected into Noah.

The epinephrine worked really quickly. He stopped gagging and grabbing at his throat. I loaded him in the car and drove to the hospital. He was assessed and needed some more steroids and IV-fluids. They also wanted to watch him for 6 hours post reaction. Needless to say a high stress day!
