GOD IS GREAT! We had some scare this week when we were told that Dave had a tear in his stomach and was taken off Chemo on Tuesday. He was having some mild chest pain on Monday(he said that it felt like a pulled muscle.) and it progressed to quite severe on Wednesday. When we met with the Oncologist he thought that the tear had been resolved but this could mean that it may not have been. He said that it could be a pneumonia or a Gastric perforation(a hole in the stomach). So the Oncologist is in the process of admitting Dave and fixing him up. In the mean time I pulled some strings and got the Upper GI series done at the PLC yesterday afternoon, and the Radiologist put our mind at ease saying that there was no sign of a perforation!!! Yeah!
The main reason that Dave needs to beat this pneumonia or whatever it is...The Cancer has shrunk!!! Dave is responding to Chemotherapy and if he continues to respond to Chemo than a GI surgeon has already told our oncologist that he would be willing to take him into the OR and cut it out!!! This is what we have suffered for is the shot at getting into the OR. Praise the Lord.
